Legal Information

Last updated: 4 November 2026

This page sets out the legal and statutory information that globalmux publishes about itself, about this website, and about the way the site may be used. It is written in plain English so that you can understand, without any legal training, who you are dealing with, what you may and may not do here, and what your options are if something goes wrong. It applies to every visitor, whether you are simply browsing or using a feature that asks you to identify yourself, such as the contact form on our Contacts page. Please read it together with the Privacy Policy, the Cookie Policy, the Terms and Conditions and the Payment and Refund Policy referred to in the sections below.

1. Who we are, and our role in relation to this website

This website is owned, operated and published by globalmux, referred to on this page as we, us and our. We are the website operator and, for the purposes of the United Kingdom General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018, we are the data controller responsible for the personal data collected through the site.

We publish this site as an informative resource dedicated to audiovisual production excellence. Its subject matter includes broadcast studio design, camera control systems, professional lighting arrangements, sound engineering, and the streamlined workflows used by television networks and by teams delivering live events. Our aim is educational and practical: to explain how professional audiovisual work is planned, built and run, and to help people who work in, or are training for, the industry to understand it properly.

We are not a broadcaster, a commissioning editor, a television network or a programme maker, and nothing on this site should be read as an offer by us to produce, broadcast, distribute or license any programme or event on your behalf. Where we do offer paid services, training, courses or equipment alongside this site, those are supplied under separate written terms, and the Terms and Conditions and the Payment and Refund Policy referred to below apply to them.

2. Statutory company information

Under section 82 of the Companies Act 2006 and the Company, Limited Liability Partnership and Business (Names and Trading Disclosures) Regulations 2015, a company that operates a website must disclose specific details about itself. In addition, the Provision of Services Regulations 2009 and the Electronic Commerce (EC Directive) Regulations 2002 require service providers to give recipients of their services certain information. The required details for this site are set out below.

2.1 Legal form of the operator

globalmux is a private limited company incorporated and registered in England and Wales. The word Limited (or Ltd) forms part of our registered name and indicates that the liability of our shareholders is limited. The business is managed by its directors, who are the persons responsible for the management of the company. Any formal legal notice addressed to the company should be sent to the registered office shown in section 3.

2.2 Registration and tax identifiers

  • Company registration number: 03555097
  • Place of registration: England and Wales
  • VAT registration number: 477222243

Our company registration number is the unique identifier issued by the Registrar of Companies for England and Wales, and it can be used to check our public filing history. Our VAT registration number is the identifier issued by HM Revenue and Customs. We display both numbers here, on our invoices and on our business correspondence, as the law requires.

2.3 Licences, authorisations and responsible representatives

Operating this website does not require a licence from a United Kingdom regulator, and we do not practise a regulated profession. Our directors, together with any company secretary we appoint, are the individuals responsible for the operator's legal and regulatory compliance.

Our audiovisual production activities are subject to general regulatory controls, including health and safety law, fire safety requirements for venues, electrical safety, and controls on hazardous substances and work at height. Compliance with those requirements is managed by our production management team on a project by project basis. Where a production is carried out at your premises or on your behalf, responsibility for site-specific safety arrangements is agreed in writing before work begins.

If the company is ever placed into liquidation, administration or another insolvency procedure, or if it changes its registered name, that fact will be disclosed on this page in line with the trading disclosure rules described above. No such notice is required to be displayed as at the date shown at the top of this page.

3. Registered office and how to contact us

Our registered office, which is the address at which formal legal documents may be served on the company, is 1 Fairview Cottages, Beehive Road, Binfield, RG12 8TS, UK.

You can reach us in the following ways:

  • Email: info@dramabydesign.com
  • Telephone: 01344 649400
  • Postal address: 1 Fairview Cottages, Beehive Road, Binfield, RG12 8TS, UK
  • Website contact form: available on our Contacts page

Email is usually the quickest route for questions about this page, for requests relating to personal data, and for any other notice. Please include enough detail for us to understand and answer your query, and tell us how you would like us to reply. We aim to respond within five working days, although complex or technical enquiries may take longer. For formal legal notices, please also send a copy by post to the registered office shown above.

4. Purpose, scope and intended audience of this website

This site exists to inform and to educate. It is intended for professionals and trainees working in audiovisual production, technical crew, students and educators, and event organisers who want to understand how broadcast and live production is designed and delivered. Content is general in nature and is not tailored to any particular venue, budget, crew, equipment inventory or legal jurisdiction. We do not provide engineering, structural, electrical, safety, legal or financial advice, and nothing on the site is a professional opinion on your specific circumstances. Before you act on anything published here, please consult a suitably qualified professional and check the requirements that apply where you are working.

The site is published in English and is aimed primarily at readers in the United Kingdom, although it is accessible worldwide. Where we describe practices, standards or regulations, we generally refer to United Kingdom law and to standards commonly used in the United Kingdom industry. If you are reading from another country, local rules may be different and you should take your own advice.

The site is intended for adults. Where material is aimed at students, it is still written for people aged 16 and over. Anyone younger than that should use the site with the involvement of a parent, guardian or teacher.

5. Access to and acceptable use of the website

5.1 Access to the site

You may browse most of this site without registering. We provide access free of charge on an as available basis. We do not guarantee that the site, or any part of it, will always be available or uninterrupted, and we may suspend, withdraw or change all or part of the site without notice, including for maintenance, security or capacity reasons. We are not liable to you if the site is unavailable for any period for any reason.

5.2 Acceptable use

You agree to use the site lawfully and not to do any of the following:

  • copy, scrape, harvest, crawl or systematically extract content or data from the site, or use automated tools to do so, without our written permission;
  • attempt to gain unauthorised access to the site, its servers or any connected system, or probe, scan or test the vulnerability of the site;
  • introduce viruses, malware, denial of service attacks or any other harmful material or code;
  • use the site to send unsolicited commercial communications, or to collect the contact details of other people;
  • frame, mirror or re-present the site in a way that suggests a connection with us that does not exist;
  • remove, obscure or alter any copyright, trade mark or other proprietary notice appearing on the site;
  • use the site in a way that is defamatory, discriminatory, harassing or obscene, that infringes anyone else's rights, or that breaks any applicable law or regulation.

5.3 Suspension and termination

We may suspend or withdraw your access to the site, or to any feature of it, without notice if we reasonably believe that you have broken these rules, that your use puts the site or other users at risk, or that we are required to do so by law. We may also block access from particular networks or addresses where we see abusive traffic.

5.4 Accessibility

We want the site to be usable by as many people as possible, and we try to follow recognised accessibility good practice in the way content is structured and presented, including the use of clear headings, readable contrast and plain language. If you encounter a barrier that prevents you from using the site, please tell us at info@dramabydesign.com, and we will try to provide the information in another format where we reasonably can.

6. Intellectual property, trade marks and permitted use of content

6.1 What is protected

All content on this site, including text, articles, diagrams, illustrations, photographs, video and audio material, page layouts, the selection and arrangement of the content, and the underlying code, is protected by copyright under the Copyright, Designs and Patents Act 1988 and, where applicable, by database rights and unregistered design rights. Unless otherwise stated, all such rights belong to globalmux, or are licensed to us by third parties, and are reserved.

6.2 What you may do with it

You may view, download and print pages for your own personal, non-commercial reference. You may quote short extracts for teaching, review, comment or news reporting, provided that you credit globalmux clearly and that the use is fair. You may not otherwise reproduce, republish, sell, rent, sublicense or distribute the content, or create derivative works from it, and you may not use it to train, develop or improve automated systems, machine learning models or similar tools, without our prior written permission.

6.3 Trade marks and third party material

Product and company names, logos and brands shown on this site may be the trade marks of their respective owners, and are used for identification and descriptive purposes only. Nothing on this site gives you a licence to use any trade mark, and the appearance of a third party trade mark does not imply endorsement, sponsorship or any other commercial connection between us and its owner. Some material may be included with the permission of third parties, whose rights must be respected in the same way as ours. If you believe that content on this site infringes your rights, please write to info@dramabydesign.com with details, and we will investigate promptly.

7. Accuracy, availability and limitation of liability

7.1 Accuracy of technical and editorial content

We take care when preparing content, and we try to describe practice accurately. However, audiovisual practice changes quickly: equipment is updated, standards are revised and workflows evolve. Content is therefore provided for general guidance only, reflects practice at the time of writing, and is not a substitute for a manufacturer's instructions, the current edition of any relevant standard, or site-specific professional advice. You are responsible for checking information against primary sources before relying on it. We may update, correct or remove content at any time, and we do not undertake to keep any page up to date.

7.2 Availability of the site

The site is provided as is and as available. While we take reasonable steps to keep it free from viruses and to protect it from misuse, we cannot guarantee that it will be secure or free from bugs or harmful code, and you should use your own virus protection when accessing it.

7.3 Limits of our liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we exclude liability for loss of profit, revenue, business, contracts, opportunity or anticipated savings; for loss of or damage to data; for loss of goodwill or reputation; and for any indirect or consequential loss, however arising, in connection with your use of, or your inability to use, this site. We also exclude liability for any loss caused by your reliance on general information published here rather than on specific professional advice, and for any loss caused by equipment, software or connectivity that is not under our control.

7.4 What we do not exclude

Nothing in these legal notices limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, for breach of the terms implied by sections 49 and 50 of the Consumer Rights Act 2015 where they apply, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited or excluded. If you are a consumer, you have statutory rights that are not affected by anything on this page.

8. External links and third party content

The site may link to websites, videos, documents, software or services operated by other organisations, and may include content supplied by third parties. Those links and that content are provided for convenience and information only. We do not control third party resources, we do not review or verify them, and a link does not mean that we endorse the organisation, its products or its views. We are not responsible for their availability, accuracy, security, privacy practices or terms of use, and we accept no liability for any loss arising from your use of them. When you follow a link, you leave this site, and the terms and policies of the destination site apply. Please read them before using that site or giving it personal data.

9. Data protection, cookies and electronic communications

9.1 Personal data and UK GDPR

We process personal data in accordance with the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018. In summary, we collect only the personal data we need, such as the details you give us through the contact form on our Contacts page, when you email us at info@dramabydesign.com, or when a cookie identifier is created on your device. We use personal data for the purposes we explain when it is collected, we keep it only as long as necessary, we share it only with service providers who help us run the site and who are bound by contract to protect it, and we do not sell it. Our Privacy Policy explains in detail what we collect, why, how long we keep it, who we share it with and how to exercise your rights, and it forms part of this legal information.

9.2 Your rights

If we hold personal data about you, you have the right to be informed about how it is used, to access a copy of it, to have inaccurate data corrected, to have it erased in certain circumstances, to restrict or object to processing, and to data portability where processing is based on consent or on a contract. You also have the right not to be subject to a decision made solely by automated means that produces legal effects concerning you, or similarly significantly affects you. Where we rely on your consent, you may withdraw it at any time. You can exercise any of these rights by writing to info@dramabydesign.com.

9.3 Cookies and PECR

Cookies and similar technologies are governed in the United Kingdom by the Privacy and Electronic Communications (EC Directive) Regulations 2003, known as PECR. We use a small number of strictly necessary cookies to make the site work and to remember your cookie choices; these do not require consent. Any other cookies, for example those used for analytics or for embedded media, are set only after you have given consent through the cookie banner shown across the site, and you can change or withdraw that consent at any time. Our Cookie Policy lists the cookies we use, explains what each one does and how long it lasts, and tells you how to delete or block cookies in your browser. Please note that blocking necessary cookies may prevent parts of the site from working properly.

9.4 Marketing communications

We do not send marketing emails to people who have not asked for them, and we do not sell or rent contact lists. If you ask to receive updates from us, every message will contain a simple way to unsubscribe, and you can also ask us to stop at any time by writing to info@dramabydesign.com.

9.5 Complaints to the Information Commissioner's Office

If you are unhappy about the way we have handled your personal data, please raise it with us first at info@dramabydesign.com, so that we have the chance to put it right. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner's Office, the independent United Kingdom regulator for data protection, which publishes its contact details and complaint forms on its official website.

10. Terms of use, sales terms and other policies

This page is a legal notice. The detailed rules that govern your use of the site, and any purchase you make from us, are set out in the following documents, which you should read alongside this page:

  • Terms and Conditions, which form the contract between you and us for the supply of goods and services, including courses, workshops, consultancy and equipment hire;
  • Privacy Policy, which explains how we handle personal data and how you can exercise your rights;
  • Cookie Policy, which lists the cookies used on the site and the choices available to you;
  • Payment and Refund Policy, which covers prices in pounds sterling, VAT, payment methods, cancellations, refunds, transfers and rescheduling;
  • Contacts page, which provides the contact form for enquiries and the details for reaching the right team.

Where there is a conflict between this legal information page and a signed contract or the Terms and Conditions, the signed contract or the Terms and Conditions prevail, except that nothing reduces the rights you have as a consumer under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 or under any other mandatory rule of law.

Where we take bookings for paid classroom, online or on-site training, distance selling rules apply. Under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013, you normally have fourteen days from the day the contract is concluded to cancel a distance or off-premises contract without giving a reason. If you ask us to begin supplying a course, a session or digital content during that period, your cancellation right ends once the supply has begun, provided we told you that it would and you agreed to it. Refunds are made using the same means of payment you used, normally within fourteen days of cancellation. Further detail on refunds, transfers and missed sessions is set out in the Payment and Refund Policy.

11. Consumer rights, complaints and dispute resolution

Nothing in this legal information affects your statutory rights. Goods and services supplied to consumers must be of satisfactory quality, fit for their purpose and as described. If something is not right, please tell us as soon as possible at info@dramabydesign.com or by telephone on 01344 649400, so that we can investigate and, where appropriate, put it right.

We want to resolve complaints quickly and without unnecessary formality. Please include your name, the booking or order reference, and a short description of what has gone wrong and what you would like us to do. We normally acknowledge a complaint within five working days and aim to give a substantive response within twenty-eight days. If we need longer, we will tell you why and when to expect our reply.

If we cannot resolve a complaint between us, you may wish to consider alternative dispute resolution, usually called ADR. ADR is a way of settling a dispute out of court, normally with the help of a neutral third party. We are not currently obliged to take part in ADR before a certified provider and we are not a member of an ADR scheme, but we will consider a reasonable request to use it. Since the end of the transition period, the European Commission's Online Dispute Resolution platform is no longer available to consumers in the United Kingdom, so any ADR would have to be arranged directly with a provider certified in the United Kingdom. Using ADR does not prevent you from going to court later if the outcome is not acceptable to you, and it does not take away your right to bring a claim before the courts at any time. General guidance on consumer rights, and on how to complain about a trader, is published by Citizens Advice and by the Competition and Markets Authority. Traders in the United Kingdom are also subject to the consumer protection provisions of the Digital Markets, Competition and Consumers Act 2024, which prohibit unfair commercial practices such as misleading claims and the publication of fake reviews.

12. Applicable law and jurisdiction

These legal notices, their subject matter and their formation, and any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with them or with your use of this site, are governed by the law of England and Wales. The courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction, except that:

  • if you are a consumer resident in Scotland, you may bring proceedings in the Scottish courts;
  • if you are a consumer resident in Northern Ireland, you may bring proceedings in the courts of Northern Ireland;
  • we may bring proceedings against you in the courts of the country in which you are resident or, if you are acting in the course of a business, in any jurisdiction where you carry on business.

Nothing in this section prevents you from relying on any mandatory consumer protection rule that applies in your own country of residence, or from bringing a claim before the courts that are competent to hear it under the applicable rules. If any provision of these legal notices is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in full force and effect.

13. Changes to this legal information and the last updated date

We review this page regularly and may change it at any time, for example to reflect a change in our registration details, a new legal requirement, a change to the services we offer, or a change in the way the site works. The version published on this page at the time you use the site is the version that applies to you. The date shown at the top of the page tells you when it was last revised, and if a change is significant we will also draw attention to it on the home page or by another reasonable means. Previous versions are not archived on the site, but you may ask us for a copy of the version that applied on a particular date by writing to info@dramabydesign.com.

If anything on this page is unclear, or if you need it in another format such as large print or plain text, please contact us at info@dramabydesign.com, telephone us on 01344 649400, or write to us at 1 Fairview Cottages, Beehive Road, Binfield, RG12 8TS, UK, and we will be glad to help.
